School Districts
In Alberta, most schools are divided into geographic areas. Schools in these areas are managed by administrative bodies often referred to as school divisions, school jurisdictions or school districts. Alberta has 62 publicly funded school districts, some of which are Roman Catholic and Francophone (French speaking).
School districts are responsible for accepting applications and admitting international students. They may also arrange home stays, greet students at the airport and provide an orientation for international students.
